Digital Workshop: Get Ready for the ECGT — Learn how to audit and future-proof your sustainability claims
This digital workshop helps your company prepare for the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) directive. We will provide guidance, tools, and discussions to help you become compliant by the deadline, 27 September 2026.
This digital workshop helps your company prepare for the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) directive. We will provide an overview of the rules and walk you through how to audit and future-proof your sustainability claims in line with the new requirements.
The ECGT directive sets new requirements for companies on how they communicate sustainability-related topics to their customers. Information you provide to consumers must now be clearly documented, specific, and verifiable. For example, claims like “environmentally friendly”, “energy efficient”, or “green” are now banned if they are undocumented. The use of internal sustainability labels and misleading images must also stop.
This means that you now need to set up new systems to log, review, and approve which sustainability claims can be used according to the new standard!
This workshop gives you:
✅ Overview of the ECGT rules
✅ A tailored roadmap to help you prepare
✅ A system for ensuring future compliance
✅ Tools and templates to simplify your preparations (and save time!)
✅ Expert guidance on how to review and update your claims
The goal of the ECGT is to protect consumers from unfair commercial practices like greenwashing and premature product failure. It seeks to ensure that consumers receive clear, trustworthy information regarding the environmental and social impacts of products.
This workshop will focus on how companies can get ready for the ECGT and ensure their sustainability communications are compliant and compelling! This workshop is facilitated by the Founder and CEO of Corporate Good, Maria Peltokangas, who is a B Corp specialist and a senior sustainability advisor. As well as the Founder of MI Studio, Ina Tuomala, a senior sustainability communicator.
